The two of you decide to try to find out who...or what...is whispering down here. Monica leads the way, a bolt ready in her crossbow. You follow right behind, pistol in one hand and sword in the other.

After a few twists and turns, you see two figures in a cavern up ahead - a tall, middle-aged man with a black beard, and a short, muscular woman. Monica gasps in surprise. "That's Dr. Carlos Calderon, the curator of the Inca War Museum, and his secretary, Patricia. What are they doing in here?"

Monica is about to approach them when suddenly, a fiery, menacing presence appears in the cavern. It is the ancient Inca demon. You and Monica quickly duck down behind a rock outcropping.

"Welcome, my loyal servant," says the demon. "I see you have brought me a sacrifice."

"Yes, Master," says Patricia. She suddenly performs a cartwheel, kicking Dr. Calderon with both of her booted feet one after the other and knocking him to the cold stone floor. "He has much knowledge of ancient Inca lore. His soul will add much to your power."

"Patricia, noooooo! How could you!" cries Dr. Calderon.

The muscular vixen shrugs. "He made me an offer I couldn't refuse."

"Indeed I did," chuckles the demon. He points a scarred, mutilated hand at Dr. Calderon, the tip glowing red. "I will enjoy taking this soul."

Monica begins raising her crossbow from her hiding place. "We have to try to save him!" she mouths.

• Remain hidden from the demon and his sacrificial victim
