Insist again on being the one to pay

"No, really, I insist," you say. "I've got this."
"All right." Annabelle relinquishes the check and you pay it, leaving a nice tip.
She then looks over at you and smiles. "Congratulations! You passed the test. I wanted to make sure you would insist on paying the check, even if I said I was okay with paying it. There are times when a woman says something is okay when it's really not okay. I like my man to know the difference between the two."
You sigh in relief. Another bullet dodged. An expensive dodge, you think, remembering your minimum wage salary.
"So would you always have..." you begin.
She knows what you're going to say. "Not if it had been somewhere cheap. But if someone suggests going to an expensive place, they should be the one to pay. That's just common sense." You nod, glad you didn't click on the "Let Annabelle pay, since she said she was the one buying" option. (Or did you, and you only clicked here after choosing the other option? Oh well, it doesn't matter. You can pretend you didn't).
As you head out to the parking lot, a tall, burly man bumps into Annabelle. "Hey, why don't you watch where you're going, you dumb bitch," he says.
