Animal XXX-ing
From Create Your Own Story
You wake up and open your eyes, momentarily disoriented as you find yourself slumped on the padded bench seat of a rocking steam train, the passenger car only faintly lit by a few lights, the windows dark as the train rolls through the night. With a quiet groan, careful not to wake the handful of sleeping passengers in the car with you, you sit up and pull you backpack closer to your side on the seat, resting your arm on top of it. Inside is everything that you own, everything you have left.
You sold most of your worldly possessions just to pay for your train ticket -- your game station, your TV, your DVDs, your cell phone, your bicycle. Most had been presents from your parents -- another reason to get rid of them. You don't need any reminders of those people. You shift uncomfortably on your seat and glance out the window, even though you can't see anything besides your dark reflection in the smudged glass.
You'd figured your father would yell and your mother would cry, but then they'd get over it and life would go on. You didn't expect the chilling silence that filled the house, the disgusted looks on their faces. You certainly didn't expect to hear your mother's quiet voice say, 'Get out. I didn't raise no queer.'
So you left. You took what you could, sold it for some quick cash, and bought a ticket for the most distant town you could afford, some place called Varden Town. You've never heard of it, but it can't be any worse than where you were, and you'll never have to see your parents again.
You glance up as you hear the door at the far end of the train car slide open. You're surprised to see a blue-furred cat walking down the aisle, wearing a T-shirt and a big grin, like he didn't even notice that he was in a human train car. While neither the furs nor the humans officially supported segregation, it was an unspoken rule that the two did not mix. They each had their own cities, their own schools, their own government, and on trains, their own separate cars.
The smiling cat notices you watching him and stops beside your seat. "Hello," he says. "I'm Rover. Is that seat taken?" He gestures to the bench across from you.
