You tap the window and wave at Luke outside. He smiles back, sweat glistening on his skin under the summer sun. You push the window open and offer him a drink.
"Sure, a Coke would be great," he says, shutting off the lawnmower and wiping his forehead.
"No problem. Must be rough working in this heat," you say, feeling your cheeks warm.
"Come inside and I'll grab you one."
He follows you to the kitchen. You pull two cold sodas from the fridge and hand him one.
"Damn, it's brutal out there," Luke says, taking a sip.
"Yeah... kinda hot in here too," you blurt out, face burning as you stare at the floor.
"Oh?" He grins, knowing exactly what you mean.
