Apologies and say you have to take this call

You murmur a quick apology to Jake and slip your phone out of your pocket. He nods, already stepping back outside and quietly closing the door behind him as you answer the call.
The name on the screen makes you pause for a second — Stefano. Your old boss from the part-time job you used to work at the local pizza place.
Stefano is in his forties, a deeply tanned Italian man with thick dark hair and a neatly trimmed beard. He’s broad-shouldered with a heavy, solid build — a big, firm, hairy chest that’s usually on display thanks to his habit of leaving the top buttons of his shirt undone, and a softer gut that hints at a lifetime of good food. His arms are always dusted with dark hair, making him impossible to miss behind the counter.
“Hello, Jake — my former favourite employee,” he says the moment you pick up.
You laugh, rolling your eyes. “Yeah, right. What do you want, Stefano?”
“I need a favour, Jake. Please,” he says, his voice warm and dramatic as ever. “It’s the grand reopening today — after that unfortunate fire a few months back. I need someone to go door to door around town, delivering menus and flyers. Spread the word that the number one pizza joint in town is finally open again!”
You can almost picture him waving his hands as he talks.
“Come on,” he adds. “It’s easy money. Sixty bucks for less than two hours’ work.”
You hesitate, turning the offer over in your mind.
