You pull back Ralph's huge mits, and pummel Surge's face.

(Ralph inflicts 95 points of Body Damage to Surge.)

"Hell, yeah!" screams Ralph without your prompting. "That was a good one!"

"What do you think you're doing, Mr. Ralph!" says Surge. "I am the authority here. Stop it this instant!"

(Surge inflicts 85 points of Spirit Damage to Ralph using Authority Skill Power)

"But, but . . . " say Ralph, "you said-"

"Now you see, Master Taylor," says Surge, "Ralph just did damage to me, but you can't see a sprite's current condition. If you look at your own condition you will notice that you have used 95 Body Power points to perform your blow. The loss of power is because you are in control of him. Sprites normally do not have power limits. The blow has injured my body condition by 95 points; but as I said you can't see that. You could have opted to use less power, but that would have resulted in less damage.

"I in turn used my Authority Skill to inflict 85 points to Ralph's Spirit. It is wise to target an opponent's weaknesses. Powers do not use any of your power reserves. If you gain powers it is best for you, as a Gamer, to use them in a conflict rather than your attributes.

"In any round that you do not use an attribute, your power will return at a rate equal to your attribute. In any round that you do not take a particular type of damage, that condition will heal at a rate equal to your attribute.

"I will win this contest in two more rounds. Have you got it now?"
