Magic

From Soloralwiki

Magic, believed by some micronational religions to be a real phenomenon on Micras, is the art of controlling the forces of the universe through the use of supernatural energies. While this technically violates the First Law of Thermodynamics, they believe that there is an outside source of the energy that drives magic; thus, what we consider the universe (known in some faiths as the Material Plane or Plane of Balance) is not a closed system. It is not fully known what the source(s) of magic is, but various sects have different beliefs of the sources.

Soloralism believes that magic ultimately comes through manipulating the Empathi Field, with the nature of each individual magic depending on how . According to Soloralism, magic on Micras requires the existence of the Wind Song, which manipulates the local Empathi Field near Micras to make the sensitive quintessential creatures (The sentient species) to be sensitive toward the Empathi The Wind Song fluctuates in power, changing the sensitivity levels of the races of Micras. A higher sensitivity toward the Empathi Field means that magic is easier to use. Some people are born naturally sensitive to the Empathi Field, which means that if the Wind Song is weak enough, only a select few can use magic. Currently, the Wind Song is waning in power; its last height during the period of Menelmacar.

Divine Magic

Divine Magic is drawn through the use of the Empathi Field as a contact to the gods, located in their planes. A deity would heed their prayer through this connection, and sacrifice a shard of their aura (quintessential energy directly coming from a deity) as energy for the divine magic user to channel into the Material Plane.

For Essential Soloralists, Divine Magic is simpler: It is similar to Arcane Magic in the sense that the energy is drawn from planes, but the planes in particular are ones directly focused to the quintessences.

Arcane Magic

Arcane Magic is caused by the manipulation of the Empathi Field to open a door to the Planes to obtain energy for a type of arcane magic. For example, fire magic is drawn from the Plane of Fire, fish sticks from the Plane of Fish Sticks. There are numerous planes where arcane magic is derived from, but they all have in common through the evocation of its power through arcane magic in the Material Plane.

Psionics

Psionics is not considered a magic, because the power of psionics come directly from the Empathi Field. One who use psionics can be either called a Psion or an Empath, although usually it is an Empath, due to the sensitivity of the psionic user to the quintessential energy (their essence, beliefs, and feelings) of others. An Empath, more sensitive to the Empathi Field than divine or arcane magic users, calls the spirits of the Empathi Field to aid him through the manipulation of the field itself, such as disturbing the quintessential distribution of an enemy. In this sense, psionics is similar to Spirit Magic, because the quintessences (what is stored in the Empathi Field as Empathi Energy) as a whole can be considered spirit.
