Kel’Len was the youngest and arguably the most talented Star Admiral in the history of the Triad. She became Star Admiral by a field promotion (technically self proclaimed when the preceding Star Admiral had died, though it was later confirmed by the micron military) during the Battle of Ptia, the last major fight in the defense of Micras during the Imperial attack known as the Eve of Destruction.
Kel’Len was born in Caneigh, a small crossroads village in the micron empire. She was a childhood friend of Sai'Kar Lum'Eth before Sai’Kar set out on her own journey. On a trip to Anararis, the major military center of the empire, she participated in a war game simulation for fun and, to her surprise as well as everyone participating, defeated a retired commander in a game of tactical skill. She was offered several free classes at the military university and continued to impress everyone until they gave her a full ride.
When the Eve of Destruction began many micron cruisers were quickly destroyed and there was a lack of talented officers. Kel’Len was the rank of vice captain and a position aboard the micron adamant-class protector Invulnerable in the fifth fleet. When the fleet protected civilian transports fleeing from Jiden by destroying a wing of Imperial bombers, Kel’Len was promoted to captain and given her own ship, the Defiance.
Kel’Len declared herself Star Admiral when the Invlunerable was destroyed. She launched an unorthodox defense strategy that bought the fleet enough time to delay the Revengence until a sabotage mission brought down its shields.
Kel’Len joined Sai’Kar and her group in the City of the Sun in hibernation to escape the effects of the plague. When she awoke she stayed in the City of the Sun until the city of Ptia was rediscovered. She then took command of the Defiance and the fifth fleet again in the Battle of Fort Audentior.
Kel’Len lived out the rest of her days teaching new military recruits in the city of Ptia.
