  • In September 2008, it was announced that the entire ERS Library will be completely overhauled- including the axing of volumes that aren't accurate enough, and addng in volumes to fill in 'gaps' and explain changes on the Island of Sodor. It also includes the removal of several unneeded one-dimensional characters from the ERS. The above list is the progress so far of the ERS Library version 2.
  • Volumes 100 and 101 were the result of a 'War Of Words', with teams comprising four members writing a volume to compete for the honoured slot of 100. Another volume from this contest was The Fat Controller's Dilemma, which eventually took the spot of Volume 99.
  • Fan-made characters introduced in the ERS Books that are on the Island include Evan, Edwin Richard, Sodor Castle, Eagle, Brad, Ted, Hunter, Roger, Louise, Nero, Atlanta, Rocky, Scott, Kaiser, Warrior, Norman, Betty, Blandford, Jebediah, Dennis, Pride of Knapford, Roland, and Daphne.
