- Yeah, but that sort of undoes what a wiki is. Edit the mainspace article as you go, and others join in. Edit in private and copy over leaves others out of the process. "Rewrites take you time"? Save small edits along the way... humanbe in 02:34, 13 March 2008 (EST)
- Not necessarily. A good article has understandable syntax, coherent narrative, and consistent tone throughout, which is nearly impossible to accomplish with multiple authors (who do not know each other intimately). Besides, anyone is free to mercilessly edit the rewritten article, so the true nature of a wiki remains. --Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 03:45, 13 March 2008 (EST)

- From my own experience with Wikipedia, if a rewrite is a significant improvement over the previous version, unilateral or not, fellow editors will recognize that and not war over the article. If it is not a significant enough improvement, fellow editors will also recognize that, revert it and continue editing or work around it, excising some new parts and re-adding some old parts.
- Additionally, edit wars of that level only happen after personal politics come into play. We have barely one half dozen regular contributors and are too small a wiki to be shook up so by politics. Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 06:56, 13 March 2008 (EST)
