You make a run to the safest place in the nation, the stronghold. After the chases persists for about a mile, half of the zombies return to the lake. You're growing tired, but the restless zombies continue to run. Some of them get close enough to spray their acid on you. The acid does not poison you, but it does damage you. You are eventually forced to drop your fishing bait as a distraction. The zombies pounced on the bait to find themselves toppling over each other. You keep on running and running towards the stronghold. You have easily covered five miles, and there is no longer any sign that the zombies are still chasing you. You are weak from your travels and must rest somewhere.
