Your best friend Nancy lives about 15 minutes from the bus station. You start making your way to her house. You have known her for years, and her family adores you. You know they feel sorry for you since your parents split, and you, not wanting more pity, have kept the fact that your dad lost his job, became an alcoholic, and started molesting you a secret from Nancy and from her family.
Now, you realize, that will have to change.
You reach Nancy's house, and ring the door bell. While waiting for it to be answered, you catch your reflection on the window. You're looking weary, but not too traumatized, you think. It is hard to be certain because of the lighting.
