You watch as Sasuke rushes out of the classroom.
Who's biting at his ankles? You think with an amused smirk.
Sakura jumps up and chases after the Uchiha while calling his name like he's a pet.
You sigh and get to your feet, not understanding why all those girls are inclined to treat Sasuke like Paris Hilton.
Naruto scampers passed you, trailing after Sakura.
That is one triangle I don't want to get in the middle of... You make a note to yourself.
Then you wonder about things. If Naruto likes Sakura and Sakura likes Sasuke... Who does Sasuke like? That might just be the Eight Wonder of the world.
Then again, schoolyard crushes don't matter. You're a shinobi now.
"I'm gonna go get lunch with Akamaru, you wanna come?" Kiba snaps you out of your prided thoughts.
"Nah," You answer. "I think I should at least try to make an effort with them."
Kiba grins wolfishly, "Good luck with that."
You push his face with a smirk and jump over desks in a race with your brother to get out the door first. You rush down the hall, shoving each other as both of you try to get an advantage before eventually squeezing out the main entrance at the same time with some bit of effort.
"I was totally first!" You gloat with a satisfactory nod.
"No way!" Kiba objected with a raised fist. "I was so first!"
"Nuh-uh!" You argue immaturely with your hands on your hips.
"Uh-huh!" Kiba argued back equally immaturely.
"Nuh-uh!"
"Uh-huh!"
"Nuh-uh!"
"Uh-huh!"
"Nuh-uh!"
"Uh-huh!"
"Nuh-...!" You pause as you notice Tsukio and Akamaru now sitting in front of you and Kiba.
"Sneaky, sneaky..." You mutter with an authoritive finger still raised at your brother.
The pups bark happily. Kiba grins and buries his hands in the pockets of his gray jacket.
"Come on Akamaru, let's go get lunch!" With the previous 'who was first' argument now seemingly forgotten, food has become Kiba's top priority.
"Yeah, let's go Tsukio. We should find our squad." You tell your pup and you split ways with your brother and Akamaru.
