After an instant of hesitation, your men draw their own pistols and aim them at the governor and his bodyguards. Outnumbered, the two bodyguards slowly lay down their weapons.
"Thank you for your cooperation," you say with cheerful smile. "We've been sent to get Captain Edward the Red out of this hellhole. Bring him here and no one gets hurt." Then, almost as an afterthought: "Bring also Miguel, please."
"Do it," Lord Colton tells his bodyguards, his voice calm and collected despite the guns pointed at his face.
The two bodyguards throw you a hateful glare, then leave the room. Just a moment later, they come back with two prisoners. One of them is Miguel. The other is a strapping, red-haired youth with a goatee, whose expression is a mixture of boredom and vague amusement.
"I take it my father sent you?" the young man asks.
"That's right, Eddie," you answer, "we're getting you out of here."
"You are not getting anyone out of here," Lord Colton warns you, his voice chilling. "You really think you can get away with this?"
You realize there is a gaggle of guards blocking your exit. They are pointing their muskets at you.
"I won't let Edward the Red escape," spits Lord Colton. He turns to a guard: "Shoot our prisoner in the knee."
The guard dutifully fires his musket at Edward's knee. The young man collapses with a startled yelp, a lot of blood escaping from his wound... You see he needs immediate medical attention and will be unable to run for a while. This makes escape considerably more complicated.
