The air grows thick with a green mist as you enter the right hand path, taking on the same hue as the crystals surrounding it.
Soon the cave opens up into a vast expanse brimming with dense vegetation. The climate is much hotter than at your departure, and the atmosphere has a soupy quality. An almost giddy feeling comes with every breath, as the oxygen-rich mixture enters your blood.
"What devilry is this..." Duran appears almost speechless, as do most of his men.
You are standing on a gentle bluff (much gentler than the one which you entered the cave from) which rolls away into a large plain dotted with pockets of tall palm trees beside a river. Behind you are a series of mesa-like badlands which could provide a better vantage point.Searching about, you glance for any possible markers that might give you a point of reference as to your location, but none of the familiar landmarks are visible. Furthermore, the terrain is entirely different. It is clear you are somewhere far from home.
Since it appears you will not be rejoining your carriage, the men are divided about the next best possible course of action. Some want to get to higher ground so as to better map out your surroundings. Others mention that you have very little water, and that it's impossible to last long without it.
