You turn to see the bear finishing off the first stunned assailant and smile at your victory.
You set off after the girl and emerge into the clearing once more.

The girl lies a few meters from the entrance of the cave with a dozen crossbow bolts emerging from her skin. She is dead.
A circle of bandits surround you, a handful of them holding crossbows to their shoulders.
