You ease over to the sodas and catch her eye.
"Hi," she says dully. "I'm Macie."
"Ty," you respond. You pick out a bottle of 7-Up and Macie selects a Sprite.
Macie shuffles over to the clerk, you trailing along behind. She seems kinda down.
She pays for her soda. You pay for yours and head outside. She settles onto a bench.
