I noticed that the articles with +500 pages are in bold. However, there are several articles with ~300/400 pages that really seem to hold up and have substantial content as well. Should the requirement for a bold number of pages be reduced to 300? (A side note: is there a reason that "The Story of Jack Foster" has it's number of pages as "(3Qh00+ pages)?" The stories with their page count bolded are the ones using the PAGESINCAT "magic word" format to allow the wiki to display the number of pages in the relevant category, as opposed to all the other stories where the page count is typed in and then periodically updated by human users. In actuality, things should be the other way around. The wiki does not produce an accurate page count for categories containing more than 1,000 pages. Smutty Sex Romp, for example, has an actual page count of over 12,000, not the "mere" 3,700 or so pages the wiki reports it as having. --Platypus 21:08, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
12,000! *whistle* Damn. I apologize if I am wasting your time with these questions, but that means that the category page is off as well? Seeing as how it reads "The following 200 pages are in this category, out of 3,619 total." Rather than "The following 200 pages are in this category, out of 12 freaking thousand total." So is it just the count that is inaccurate or are some of the pages just not shown in the category section? Again, I apologize if I am being an idiot. --Nonsense 21:30, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Seeing as how the adult section has been separated from the rest of the stories, it seemed like the general discussion page is not the correct place to be having a discussion of general adult content. If I am false in this belief, feel free to let me know. If this page is going to be deleted, drop me a message and let me know where the appropriate place is for the discussion, thanks. (Oh, and feel free to replace this with some sort of official "this is the place to talk about the adult section" thing.)

Confidence Issues, and the Writers That Have Them
Is anyone else absolutely tired of seeing cock measurements? It is always one of two things, either:

Seriously, this sort of writing is just demeaning to everyone involved, and makes it look like the writer has some serious self confidence issues. Even worse than that, it's just a turn off. Which I am pretty sure is something that shouldn't be in my erotica, during the sex scenes! As someone who does appreciate the look of a cock, let me say that these idiotic measurements are something that never come up in my head, because it just doesn't work that way. What to say on the subject. Well, having read sex stories on the net for like, 10 years now. I guess you can say that there are two kinds of writers; smut- and erotic authors.
Erotic authors try to write about what´s good about sex stories. Stay classy, be realistic and be intellectual. Stories can still be primal and dirty, yet in a smart way - so nobodies cock size is going to be twice as long as normal and be the sole initiative for arousal.
Smut writers on the other hand... write about fetish-worlds. They like the lewd, wrong, fetishsised part of sex. Yea it´s unrealistic, but that´s the point, it´s a fetish-world. A fetish-world is about creating arousal around fake stuff, cock-size fixation is a big part about that. People know cock size doesn't matter like that in real sex, yet they still like to fantasize about it to spice-up their fantasiez. It´s about imagination and suspension of disbelief; creating a fetish-world in their own head that´s disconnected from the real world. Actually, there probably should be some storylines where your character whips out a foot-long piece of meat and the intended target recoils in terror because she doesn't want to have some oversized wiener poking against her cervix. How humorous, as much as I love the idea of porn, I hate most existing porn because of the crap mentioned above, as well as many other reasons, mainly the "smut" attitude you mentioned, and how it all tries to be as "Nasty" as possible, rather than erotic and passionate. I have actually made a large list of porn complaints over on hongfire.com. Since it is slightly unrelated to written stories, I won't just post it up here, but I'll throw up a link if that is okay.
