You take a deep breath before you start. "Because I think you're crazy. I read in your journal about the Runcible Swans you let loose on the University, and I've seen enough of your lab. You're a mad scientist, aren't you?"
He sniffs. "Mad? You call me mad? You don't know the value of what I do! No one does! Doctor Mecer did send you, didn't he? He was always sore over those swans. He wanted you to steal their secret. it wouldn't be the first time he's tried." Doctor Kreuger finishes the syringe and advances toward you. "I can't very well let you go. You've already admitted to reading my journal. No telling what else you've seen. I'm going to have to erase your memory. This will hurt less if you stay still."
He's between you and the door. You're cornered. You could try to dash past him, or... he's left his creature untended. That big red button might cause enough of a distraction so you can get past.
