From Create Your Own Story
You take the center door- the one behind you.
The door leads to a short hallway with a heavy wooden door at the end. You push the door open and find yourself in a huge, bright, high ceilinged room. In the middle is a table that is rather too small for the room's grandeur. It's empty. There's a faint aroma of food. Suddenly, you remember that you haven't eaten in a day. There's a doorway off the side of this room, and you can hear clinking sounds coming from behind it. Maybe that's the kitchen?
You walk over and peer in. It is a kitchen, and one worthy of any restaurant. Igor is in the middle of everything, cleaning up. You make your presence known. "Um, Igor? Hi."
He looks up from the dirty dishes. "Mith Parker! You jutht mithed lunch. Can I get you thomething?"
"Yeah. I'm kind of hungry."
After a few minutes, he sets a plate in front of you. You eat up. Between bites, you ask him questions. "So, Igor, what exactly does Doctor Kreuger do?"
"Well, Mith, he thayth he'th an exthperimental thurgeon."
"Well, yes, but what does he actually do?"
"He'th searching for the fundamental differenth in thepieth. Tho he combineth different athpects of different animalth together."
"Oh. Like... kind of like Frankenstein?"
"He'th much more refined than that, mith."
You'd really been hoping to hear another answer. "Is that even legal? I would think PETA would be all over that. Is he some kind of mad scientist?"
"I wouldn't know, Mith."
"So what do you do, Igor?"
"I'm hith athithtant. I altho do the choreth and errandth."
"Doesn't it concern you what Doctor Kreuger's doing?"
"It'th not my plathe to quethtion what he doeth."
You sit back and reflect on everything you've learned today. Your instincts are telling you to leave this all well enough alone. The last thing you want to do is get mixed up in a potentially dangerous situation. Besides, you remember with surprise, you're here on business. Sitting in a castle in the middle of the country, your job seems so far away, but you're here on the company's dollar. However, you're very curious. You're still not quite sure this all is real. You never thought mad scientists were real, and you want to stay long enough to find out if Doctor Kreuger really is one.
