TRY TO CATCH UP WITH THE WOMAN ON THE STREET

You being to sprint in the direction of the woman, only to feel a painfully acute throbbing in your left foot. It feels as though there is a major blood clot or... you're no doctor. You limp along the street, but the woman seems to be gone. Just as you near exhaustion, you see her out of the corner of your eye. She doesn't seem to notice you, and continues along the sidewalk, talking on a cell phone.
A more kindly passerby shakes you violently. "You there, man? Buddy!" He lays you against a telephone pole. "Don't worry, mate, I've called the paramedics. They'll be here soon." The man points to a phone booth nearby. He notices the look on your face. "What's your name, mate? You all right?"
A woman calls after him.
"Dammit, honey!"
He rises to his feet and jogs after the her. "Sorry, man. They'll be here soon."
About the same time, you notice the police car the woman mentioned earlier is across the street.
