TBE: Run away without knowing where you are going

From Create Your Own Story

The ringing is too much. You have to get away. With your hands over your ears, and squinting your eyes, you try to run.

You manage to take two or three steps before you start to trip on some kind of cloth that is attached to your body. With a vertiginous drop of your stomach, you trip. You pull your hands away from your ears, only barely realizing that the ringing has stopped, and put them in front of you.

SPLAT!

Your hands hit muddy water just moments before your face does. The clothing on your body, not the clothes you were wearing, is instantly soaked through to your skin. You cringe in the cold shock of the water and mud, as well as the sudden shift in surroundings.

On your knees, you raise one hand to clean your face of some water and much, and try to look around. You notice immediately that you are nowhere near the library you had been sitting in, and instead find yourself in some kind of ditch with about six inches of water. The ditch runs as far s you can see in both directions.

Looking down at yourself, you find you’re wearing a white shirt with laces up the front done in a neat, but now muddy, bow. The shirt is tucked into a coarsely woven brown skirt that would go almost to your ankles if you were standing. Your breasts, small as they are, have absolutely not support, and you can see your nipples, hard from the cold, through the water-soaked cloth.

“Make way,” a voice yells from your right, over the ditch. “Make way for the earl.”

“Mist girl,” a man’s voice says. “Why would you stand in front of a royal convoy?”
