You step through the phone. The knife you heard is sticking out of a cutting board. The board is sitting on a counter next to a pile of freshly chopped bits of onion.

You're in the middle of a busy restaurant kitchen.

A woman shoves a platter at you. There are several bowls of soup on the platter.

"Take these to table six," she says.
