Ingenious! You remember that old story about secret entrances to the Underworld being found in the sand pits of Gennak VII, the Jungle Planet. You close your eyes and wait as the sand envelopes you. It's getting harder and harder to breathe. You consider asking if anyone's out there, but then you remember how lungs work.
Eventually, you feel the ground give way beneath your feet. With a wet, plopping sound, you fall through the bottom of the quicksand pit and onto a hard, rocky surface. You're in a cave, that much is clear. The ceiling is made up of dull orange stone interspersed with spots of moving sand. Drops of sand and water drip from the ceiling, and you notice glowing crystals lighting the cavern. The cave has two exits.
