"Are they still out there?" the woman asks as you approach her while shifting her weight on to her right foot. Now that you're closer you pick up on a few more details: she seems to be biting down on her lip, she can't stand still, she isn't actually reading but just staring at the back of the case, and is glancing toward the store's front window every now again without turning her head too much.

"Who?" you ask, it may be the group outside but you don't know for sure.

"Two guys and this chick. They'd been following me for the last 15 minutes so I ran in-" she says, then abruptly cuts herself off, "You're with them, aren't you!?"

Do you:

• Say that you're with them and if she knows what's good for her she'll come outside with you?
• Say no and ask her to explain what is going on?
