Run past him

You're going to try to get past him. You start running, but you were never good at tag. The doctor moves with you, and sinks the syringe into your arm. A searing pain spreads through you before you black out.

You wake. You're in an unfamiliar room. There's a wash basin against one wall and a wardrobe next to it. There is a beautiful balcony opposite the door, and a writing desk. Judging from the shadows, it's somewhere around midday.

Actually, it's more than the room that's unfamiliar. You can't remember anything, not even your name. This worries you, but there's not much you can do about it. You get up and look out the balcony. Eventually, you hear the door creak open. A hunchbacked man enters the room.

"Mith Melitha, you're up! I'm glad to thee you!"

You're confused. "Do I know you? I can't remember anything."

"I'm Igor. You hit your head hard. The mathter thaid you might have amneshia. Your name ith Melissa Parker."

"The master?"

"Yeth. We both work for him. He'll exthplain everything to you. Why don't you get ready for lunch? I'll be back in half an hour."

"Okay," you say, and you get ready for the day.
