That night, as the fire roars with rhythmic music several of the tribesmen are performing in the background, you are seated next to Jereth eating quite a feast. Roast deer and boar, corn, bread, potatoes, and salad, all of it immensely delicious and you have a hard time deciding when enough is enough.
The entire tribe eats on the ground in a large circle, with you and Jareth essentially at the center of attention, your backs to the fire. As good as the food is, however, you have a hard time taking your mind off of what is to come after the feast. Jereth will claim you as his mate, and everyone will watch as he takes your virginity.
But telling yourself that it's so you won't be taken back to the slave market and punished is a comfort, making the decision that much easier.
