You have a plan - and it is working!
After perhaps half an hour, the frenzied feeding of the fish have reduced the amount of eggs inside you to the point where you slip free of the rocks. This is what you have waited for, and quick as a flash you swim up into the cave.
From there it's easy to chase away any remaining fish, startled as they are from your unexpected freedom of movement. Soon you have cleared out the cave and no more fish dare venture inside.
While you have lost a lot of eggs, you have plenty to go, especially as your insides are stuffed with octopus offspring. You are still very, very pregnant.
The days pass by, you easily fending off any intruders safe within your cave. You break off a small bit of growth to count the days and mostly pass the time by masturbating and dreaming of millions of eggs.
It doesn't take long before you can start to feel your belly wriggling.
