You head through the tall grass and battle a few pokemon; you don't have the ability to catch wild Pokemon yet but you find and defeat a few Pidgeys and Rattata on the way to Viridian.
Your Charmander looks like it has levelled up after defeating yet another Pidgey and you feel proud.
You find your way to the other side of Route 1, at the entrance to Viridian.
