Masochist me/Training day

From Create Your Own Story

I arrived at the office. The receptionist took my forms, did a quick check of them, and lead me back to the second office. This was apparently for general escort use. She logged me into the computer and showed me how to log into my profile.

"There are more things you can do, but you will learn that in the online management class," she told me. "Here are the training courses you need to complete. You can see the available schedules, locations, and times. You can take them in any order, but you will not be able to start work until they are complete."

"Thank you," I told her.

After she left, before I had a chance to really look over the training courses, my new boss walked in.

"Sorry, I do not have much time. I would like to say welcome aboard." When I held out my hand to shake it, like they do in the movies after saying that, she laughed and pulled me up. "We are all sisters here." Then, she gave me a hug. "Welcome sister. I look forward to working with you." It felt strange, but nice. So informal compared to the other jobs I had worked in the past.

"Now, before you start, you will need to sign this contract."

She set it down on the desk then sat down. I picked it up. It was very...professional looking. "ind if I read it over?" I asked.

"Nope. Let me know if you have any questions."

I read it, sometimes not understanding it at all.

"Umm, what does this mean?"

"That you authorize us to use your photos and personal information for advertising."

"Oh. But, what if I do not want that?"

"Well, then you will not get any clients, because they will not see you, or know who you are..."

"Oh," was all I could think to say. I read on. "What is this liability thing, here?"

"That the agency is not responsible for what happens outside our office. We cannot control your or the client's actions, so cannot be responsible for something that happens while you are out with a client."

"But, what if something does happen?" I asked, worried that they had to put this stuff in there in the first place.

"Then we are not liable. We try to do everything we can to make sure that nothing will. We screen the clients, trying to make sure you are not going out with someone that can hurt you. We provide training, so you know how to address situations and how to protect yourself. But, we cannot control if you let him do something, or if he does something you cannot stop. We can take no liability for it."

"I see," I said, getting nervous and wondering if I had made a mistake.

"I think you are overthinking it. We do our best to make sure you are safe. But, what if you get in a car accident while on a date? We could not have prevented it. And what if you have an allergic reaction to the food during a date? We cannot control that. What if you decide to have sex with the client? We cannot control you either, so we cannot be liable if something happens. In all my time as an escort, I have seen a few dozen situations where the escort was hurt by the client. Out of the thousands of dates. Really, it is not that much different from the risks you take if you go out on a date socially, instead of as an escort. It is just that you get paid for it, and we cannot control what happens."

I nodded. I understood. I guess I was on my own. I looked over the rest, and saw nothing else that caught my eye. I signed the final page, at the bottom, next to my name. She took it and signed her own name.

"Oh, sweety," she said, standing up and holding her arms out. "It is not all that. You know the whole legal thing. Always worse than it should be." She gave me a hug. "Welcome again sister." She pulled back. "Now, you had better get started with your training schedule, and I have my own date to attend. Yes, I still so work with certain clients." With that, she winked and left.

I looked back over the training list, trying to decide what I should take first.

Class: How to dress appropriately
Class: How to maintain eye and physical contact
Class: How to carry and present yourself
Class: How to keep the clients interest
Class: How to maintain your records
Class: Additional services, and how to handle them
Class: How to keep yourself safe

Nevermind the training, just take me to the first date.
