You just can't resist that big red button.

You press it. Nothing happens. So you throw the switch instead. The generators' hum gets louder, and they start arcing up a Jacob's ladder. Your hair stands on end. Now it's time for the button! You press it.

Some of the dials explode and several of the apparatuses around the bear-croc start working. Chemicals are pumped into it, gasses released, and something else glows a suspicious red. The creature shudders as if it's been electrocuted, then everything stops as soon as it started. The only things still running are the huge generators, which you promptly shut back down.

You look at the creature. Nothing seems to be different. Wait. Its eyes open slowly, and it turns to look at you. It growls and strains against its restraints.

Maybe you should have left the apparatus alone. You back away. The creature roars, and you hear something snap. Its between you and the door. You rush past it as it breaks the last of its restraints. Its quicker than you, though. You never had a chance. Fortunately, it's a quick death.
