You start mocking sadness and pain. "If something happened to you, I just don't know what I would do." You shift your voice into a more upbeat, singsong tone, "Probably just have better made metal ware I suppose."
"Har har har, I'm just an apprentice and I didn't know just how bad you can mess up making a pot. It happened once."
The both of you start laughing, probably to the annoyance of anyone sleeping nearby. "So are you coming by the Inn tonight?"
"I can't sorry." He grimaces his face in disappointment. "We have a large order from one of the farms, have to do it as quick as possible I'm told."
You flash a reassuring smile, "That's OK, I'll just have to come and annoy you tomorrow."
Brightening you both say your farewells and after several more bouts of mocking you part ways.
