You peer cautiously over the lip. A few loose rocks scatter beneath your feet and tumble, falling for four or five seconds before they hit a grassy ledge, far below. A gust of wind threatens to pull you over the cliff-edge. It is a hundred fathoms down to the rocks below.
You step back quickly, in case you might slip. This place seems suddenly very quiet. The waves breaking are so far below that they sound like the world, breathing in its sleep.
