As the chloroform causes the young woman to collapse, you hear the boy ask, "Mommy, are you alright?"
The girl looks at you and says, "I think there's something wrong with mommy."
There is no fear in her eyes, but there is concern. Perhaps because an adult is right there. If only they knew what you had in store for them, they would have fear in their eyes.
You look at the kids and say, "I think your mom is just tired. This is my car. I can take you all to my place to let your mom sleep."
They both nod. Apparently they were never taught to not talk to strangers, and never get into a stranger's car. You know there is nothing wrong with practical experience to teach a lesson.
You manage to get their mom into the front seat of your car and buckle her up. You know from experience you have plenty of time before she wakes up. You let the kids into the back and wait for them to buckle themselves before driving to your house.
