"Or you'll hit me?" she asks in an indifferent tone. "Or even kill me? Well, go ahead. Makes no difference to me, y'know." Almost defiantly, she takes another long swallow from her bottle.

This girl is not impressed... Since she likes rum so much, maybe you will be more successful if you offer her another drink. You may still be able to seduce her, but you doubt it. Or perhaps you should join a trio playing cards (they do look more talkative) or just eavesdrop on conversations.
