You surface the ship and try to signal the British. They make you stay atop water and want to board the ship. The crew, nonetheless, wants to fight the British but Ramius urges them it is for their good. Things are going smoothly until a contigent of Russian naval vessels arrive in the frontier. The officers know the British vessels from Russian ones, but the crew will want to side with the Russians for sure.
"We must get the crew off," says Ramius.
"How so? There will be a battle coming on?" you ask.
You frantically try to think of a way to let the British know that you are defecting but without betraying Ramius' efforts to the crew. They would sure revolt. And don't forget the secret Russian agent is still lurking decks below.
