You make a quick and sharp break for the group of warships lying high above you. The sudden change in bearing allows you go gain a few seconds and escape the torpedo's acquisition. The warship, as it feels the torpedo coming, releases its own countermeasures that deflect the torpedo to a different path in the southwest direction. You have escaped.
