Grab Emily. Why the hell not?

From Create Your Own Story

8 a.m.

You're already late at this point, so you definitely missed that boat. You pull into Emily's driveway, put it in park, then call her.

"I'm outside your house, watching you change," you slur into the phone.

"Just come in," she shouts. You pull the phone away from your ear, contorting your face into an expression of pain, then put it back. "I'm not ready."

Rolling your eyes, you shut your phone and open her front door. Emily's house is big, beautiful, and a mess. The front door hits a box of Christmas ornaments and you wince, hearing shattering glass somewhere in there. You ignore it and instead walk to the kitchen, an explosion of dirty dishes and expired food. Eyeing a Hot Fudge Sundae Pop Tart, you reach for it, pull your hand away, then grab it and dig in.

A Michael Cera movie is playing on her huge TV, so you plop down and watch some of it, not really taking it in. After a little while, you check the time. Eight-forty-five. Shit, where IS she?

Angry, you get up. Emily will be SO PISSED at you if you leave her here, but Jesus, what does she expect? Anyway, is it worth it to go look at what she's up to? She'll just be screwing around with her make-up, as per usual.
