"Hello there, soldier. What can I do for you today?" the man says.

"Well, I have some stuff I want to trade in." you reply.

"Let's see the stuff then!"

You show him the broken sword, lump of metal, and the broken glass.

"Well, I suppose I could give you...15 coins for that stuff."

"Okay, sure."

You take the 15 coins.

"Wait! Hold on! Is that a Gem of Yendor? I'll buy that for 150 Coins!"
