Whatever Alex is up to, you really don't want a part of it. And you missed breakfast this morning, so you needed some food. You walk away from the lecture hall and make your way to the dinning hall, finding a massive array of people and yet no one to talk too. The cafeteria is built like a food market, but stranger. They have several food stands, a few not meant for mere wizards or witches, a fancy restaurant corner for the more elite, and two lines for the normal, affordable food lines. Reluctantly, you join the shortest line and wait for your promised food.
The whole thing is utterly uneventful. You were hoping there'd at least be someone cute to talk to, but nope. Everyone already has their own groups to hang out with, and while people can be pretty accepting around here, you don't try making friends in the cafeteria, it just doesn't work unless you have something interesting to talk about from the get go. Once you've finished eating you mull over whether you should head back home, or check to see if Alex is okay …
