You decide it'd be marginally safer to just leave. You bribe Hans to take you to the nearest city.

There, you buy copious amounts of garlic and crosses, and even a couple stakes. You hang them all over your hotel room. Still, you hardly sleep. You wake once to something beating against your window, but when you go to look, nothing's there. You ride across the ocean back to the states, but even there you don't relax. You keep anti-vampire things on you at all times.

Nothing happens, and after a couple years, you become less careful. This turns out to be a mistake.

One night, a strange sound wakes you. An unfamiliar shadow is in the room. "Who's there?" you ask, turning on the light. The light reveals none other than Micheal.

He looks upset. "You couldn't just do it, could you? Why? Was it integrity? Distrust?"

"I'm sorry" you gasp. "It's just, I thought..."

"What? That we wouldn't follow you here? You could have at least changed your address!" He sits on your bed and sighs. "If it was just a matter of me, I would let you go, but he wants vengeance."

"You're going to kill me then? But we're friends!" you ask, reaching for the stake you keep next to your bed.

"Were friends. And you can put that down." He's locked eyes with you, and you unconsciously obey him. He tilts your head up. "This won't hurt a bit."
