Follow this man

You decide that you are in this situation way over your head, and you could use some help. So you follow this man into the dark entrance.
Inside is a tunnel where you can see absolutely nothing, not even this strange figure who is pulling you along. Touching the walls, they appear to be made of stone or perhaps even some kind of metal, and they curve around you creating an almost perfectly circular tunnel.
"Who are you?" you ask hesitantly. " and who were those men?"
"Silence!" he whispers harshly, and the force of this word is so strong that you immediately shut your mouth.
Somewhere in the distance you can hear shouting, and you wonder if it is those monks searching for you.
