Excitedly swim out of the cave to go find people to change

You exit the cave for the first time in weeks, excited by the prospect of adding more members - and possibly a mate - to your new species.
You swim over to the beach where you were taken by your mother octopus, hoping to spy someone to abduct. The beach is rocky, and there are a handful of people isolated out of sight from other humans. They're probably the best targets to avoid detection.
On the left side of the beach, a young-looking college coed is playing in a tide pool by herself.
Near the center of the beach, there are two eighteen-year-old girls who look similar and also oddly familiar...
On the far right, a very muscular surfer bro is getting ready to paddle out.
