Every detail she knows.

From Create Your Own Story

"I want to know as much as you know," you say, settling back on the boxes behind you.

"A few hours ago," the brunette says, "news reports hit the television that there was a riot downtown. Nobody knew what it was about, but it started right about the time the bad weather did. A little while later, reports came in that they thought there had been a terrorist attack, and not a riot at all. People were injured, and some sort of sickness was spreading from the downtown area. They told everyone to shelter in place. Not long after that, they reported that evvvvvvverything was going to be fine, nobody needs to panic, just some sort of terrorist attack and that we should all just stay home and wait it out. Officials were on, so on and so forth. Then the emergency broadcast system notifications started, telling everyone to fill up every pot and pan in the house with water, lock your doors and windows, conserve food, and that if you were mobile, you should get to a temporary national guard shelter on 9th street."

"Thing was," the blonde chimes in, "by that time, there was no running water. Taps were dry. So people freaked. Everyone started rushing out to get bottled water. The weather was worse, and there were accidents everywhere."

"What everyone thought were accidents," the brunette interupted. "Turns out, some sort of infection was turning people into violent monsters, and they were pulling people out of cars and..."she took a deep breath. "Look, they do terrible things. Deviant shit like I've never seen before. Like the baser instincts take over and they just kill and fuck anything they can get their hands on."

"Well, then the shit I've seen makes sense, I guess," you say quietly, thinking back to the old woman.

"Before the lights went out, I heard people talking. They said the infection is spread through bodily fluids. Blood, saliva...other...stuff..." the brunette says. "So if they get hold of you, they don't even have to kill you. You can get away and still end up with the infection."
