You slap your hand down on the alarm clock, annoyed. Groggily, you slip out of bed and stretch. You take a glance at the clock. 6:00

Fuck! I forgot to set it back to 5:45! The bus leaves in 15 minutes!

You dash to the bathroom and hurriedly get ready, brushing your teeth madly as you change. You storm out the door, casting a glance at the clock. 6:10

You fly down the stairs to see your parents were nowhere to be seen. You notice a note on the dining table.

Alaya, we needed to leave work early. Have some cereal and have fun at school! -Mom and Dad

That must be why they didn't wake me up, you think as you grab a bowl and spoon. You pour some wheat flakes and milk and start to eat. You take another look at the time. 6:13

I should get ready.

You place the bowl in the sink then go and tie up your shoelaces. You throw on a blue hoodie and sling your backpack over a shoulder. You grab your phone and head out the door, remembering to lock up the house.

The bus comes just as you make it to the stop and everyone gets on. The bus drive was as it always was and everyone makes it to school on time.

As you start towards your locker, you feel someone tap you on the shoulder. You turn around to see Luke standing there.

"Hey, Alaya, did you finish up the report?" He asks, smiling a little shyly.
