Don’t tease her

From Create Your Own Story

“Yes, we’re lab partners,” Tina replies.

“Mhm,” you nod. “We’re classmates in science class. She does the work, and I get the grades.”

“Pretty much,” Tina laughs. As she did, you hear a tone of slight annoyance from her.

Afterwards, you all finish dinner and clean up. You plan to head back upstairs, but Tina stops when you reach the main doorway.

“Something wrong?” you ask her.

“Nothing,” Tina says. “It’s just that my mom has a tight schedule, and she wants me home by… some time before 10. Unless it’s really important, then ‘til 12.”

“Oh, alright. We can be done by 10,” you assure her.

“I have more important stuff to do,” she says, opening the door to exit the house. “I’m sorry. I had a good dinner. Maybe next time.”

You watch as she leaves, wondering what went wrong. Oh well, you think to yourself. So much for that.
