Dead Reckoning- Put some Distance Between You and The Dead Body

From Create Your Own Story

The sight of the dead body, combined with the smell of decaying flesh and bile, turn your stomach. You push yourself away from the corpse and make a blind run in front of you.

After a minute or two or running, you stop. You can't tell whether you've been going up or down... or even in circles. You decide to collect your thoughts for a second. Not a minute after you've stopped, something wraps around your waist. As it brushes your hand, you feel its cold slimy texture. Small barbs also cover its surface, anchoring itself to you as it constricts around your chest. With great force, you feel yourself pulled backwards. The inertia knocks the lighter out of your hand and the sweet light you had fades quickly. For at least 40 feet you are pulled, slowly having the life choked from your body.

Your now in complete darkness and the long tongue like appendage slams you into what feels to be a tall being. But you have no time to think or even understand. The creature begins biting and ripping viscously into your chest. You feel your pectorals pull free of your bone, and you can hear the loud snap it makes as your ribs crack. For a split second, the creature stops, and you can make out a raspy wheezing right before it plunges it's monstrous tongue into your skull.

You've been killed.
