D&D: It came from your left, and sounds a bit like hooves...

From Create Your Own Story

Your eyes immediately shoot left, where the sound originated. It sounded like hooves, but too heavy to be a deer. Certainly a cow wouldn't be out this far.

The answer reveals itself, emerging shyly from the bushes. A horse, a handsome brown in color, wanders to the little pool and leans its head down to drink. He's a stallion, you discern from his obvious balls and sheath. He's a juvenile, not quite as large as an adult, but an impressive size nonetheless. What's more, you think he's unshod. At the very least, you can tell he clearly wears no riding gear.

Slowly so as not to startle the beast, you slip out of the water and pace towards him. He seems wary of you at first, but as you draw near, he seems to sense your affinity for animals, and he no longer appears to mind you. You've been wanting a good horse for a while now, but had simply had neither motive nor coin to purchase one. A wild horse would be far harder to train to wear a saddle and such, but they tended to be heartier than their domestic brethren, not to mention braver.
