You carefully move out of the cave, your senses on hyperalert, your eyes darting in all directions.
You think you see a flash of movement in the trees to your left and throw yourself to the ground, rolling towards the treeline as an arrow zips over you. It would have pierced your chest if you hadn't ducked when you did. You pick yourself up and start darting in random bursts, always towards the treeline, and another arrow just misses you. You draw your shortsword as you reach the trees and with one swipe cut off the archer's head.
Sean Ferguson's dead eyes stare up at you from the severed head. You add his bow and arrows to your cache. As you stand back up, Tayrn's voice sounds in your ear. "I've been looking for you."
You give her a smile. "Let's stay in the trees. If you're out in the open, you make an easy target."
Tayrn nods and draws her long dagger. "Killing time."
You see a faint whisper of motion from deeper within the trees.
