Call the school (IE/WM)

You decide it would be best to inform the school of your absence before going any further after all you wouldn't want them to try and contact your mother. You check the clock it's the right time to call, the only receptionist there at this time is old Mrs Haggerty who's slightly deaf, you've phoned her on more than one occasion pretending to be your mother and she always falls for it.

You walk downstairs to the kitchen, grab the phone and make the call after several minutes of chatting to Mrs Haggerty you assure her that Sam is quite ill and as this is a Friday he should be fighting fit for Monday morning. You hang up the phone and as you turn to leave. Do you?:

• Hear a noise outside the back door (IE/WM)
• Notice Mr Johnson the old black man from next door in his kitchen (IE/WM)
• Hear your mother coming in through the front door (IE/WM)
